Synopsis

The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) is a transformation marked by considerable advances in technology such as those of the earlier industrial revolutions. It has emerged as a compass, indicating new directions for advancement and innovation as one of the most challenging intersections people have ever imagined between technology and society in our history (Ivaldi et al., 2021). In light of the significant changes occurring worldwide and the emergence of new challenges driven by advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and the Internet of Things (IoT), governments are required to develop policies that effectively navigate this complex environment (Shava & Hofisi, 2017).

In this context, this chapter explores the intriguing aspect of Bangladesh entering the 4IR. In this modern age, where perhaps the most crucial aspects are the ability to be adaptive and forward-thinking, Bangladesh is an epitome because it highlights the urgency of strategic foresight and proactive measures. This chapter invites the readers to follow the journey of Bangladesh in pursuit of a future marked by technology and inclusion. When a country tries to adapt to new changes, it faces challenges in conserving its tradition, culture, and identity. But Bangladesh is heading toward a future that integrates innovation and tradition. There will also be a look at government initiatives to develop technology in Bangladesh while preserving their distinctive features.
